The Ben Stiller Show
The Ben Stiller Show is the name of 2 comedy shows which aired from 1990 to 1991, and then on Fox from September 1992. The Fox series stars Andy Dick, Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo and Bob Odenkirk. Character actor John F. O'Donohue also appeared in every episode. It featured filmed humor sections, many of which parodied mid-1980s to ancient 1990s pop-culture. Despite mostly positive reviews, Fox canceled the series after only 12 episodes, due to low ratings.
Unlike many sketch comedy shows, The Ben Stiller Show didn't make use of a studio audience or even a laugh track. This was the only real Fox sketch comedy program not to make use of a laugh track. The same format was, used by The Andy Dick Show, Even the semi-spinoff.
After cancellation, the series won the 1993 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing.
