Password is an American television game series that was produced by Bob Stewart to get Goodson-Todman Productions. The host had been Allen Ludden, who'd previously been well known as the host of this G.E. College Bowl.
Password aired for 1,555 day telecasts per weekday from October 2, 1961 to September 1-5, 1967 on CBS, along with weekly time airings from January 2, 1962 and December 25, 1966 to May 22, 1967. An day shows aired from April 5, 1971 to June 27, 1975 on ABC.
The show's announcers have been Jack Clark and Lee Vines on CBS and John Harlan around ABC.
Two revivals later aired from 1979 on NBC -- both 1982 and 1984--1989, accompanied closely by a time variant on CBS from 2008--2009.
