MTV Video Music Awards
An MTV Video Music Award (usually called a VMA) is an award presented by the cable channel MTV to honor the best in the music video medium. Originally conceived as an alternative to the Grammy Awards (in the video category), the yearly MTV Video Music Awards service has regularly been called the"superbowl for childhood", an acknowledgment of the VMA ceremony's means to draw millions of childhood from teens to 20 somethings every year. The VMA had turned into a coveted award. The statue contributed to winners is an astronaut on the moon, among the first representations of MTV. The statue was initially conceived by Manhattan Design--also designers of this original MTV logo--in line with the 1981"Top of the Hour" animation Made by Fred Seibert, produced by Alan Goodman, also made by Buzz Potamkin in Buzzco Associates.
The yearly VMA ceremony held either in late August or mid-September and occurs before the end of summer, and broadcast live on MTV. The VMA service was first held in New York 's Radio City Music Hall in 1984. The ceremonies are held in either New York City or Los Angeles. The agencies have also been hosted in Miami and Las Vegas.
