Vineland

A short experimental documentary is shot at Los Angeles' last drive-in theater, in the bleak City of Industry. Dislocated Hollywood pictures re-framed and reflected via car windows and mirrors as the displacement of the radio broadcast soundtrack collides with the projections upon and surrounding the various displays. Its midnight landscape is a hallucinatory border zone, exposing overlapping worlds at the crossroads of nostalgia and alienation.
