Joseph Kilian
The plot revolves around Harold, a lone survivor in a society ruled by totalitarian bureaucrats. A long-lost friend of Harold's, Joseph Kilian, lives in Prague. As soon as Harold spots a state-run pet-rental shop, he decides to take advantage of it. It turns out the store has closed down when he tries to return the cat later. In Harold's search for Kilian, he's joined by a furry companion. This 40-minute short, written and directed by Pavel Juracek, expertly fires its allegorical shots at personality cults and authoritarian state absurdities.
