Marina is growing along with her architect father in a prototype mill town by the sea. Finding the species repellent and strange, she keeps her distance. Instead she chooses to watch it through the music of Suicide, the mammal documentaries of Sir David Attenborough, and the sexual-education lessons she receives from her friend. A stranger comes to town and challenges her to a duel , in her table. Her father meanwhile ritualistically prepares for his exit by the 20th century, and he believes to be"over rated."
