A Barefoot Dream
Kim Won-kang, a former pro soccer player, visits East Timor by chance after a string of bad business ideas. There, he sees kids playing soccer barefoot on rocky fields. When he learned that the country didn't have a single sporting goods store, he saw an opportunity to start a new business. He comes up with a plan to get rich quickly by selling athletic shoes to kids who don't have any. Even with a good payment plan, no one there can afford to pay $60 for a pair of shoes. Before he knows it, he's coaching a team of ragged 10-year-olds, and things don't look good. Written by Palm Springs International Film Festival
